The Host

Yo guys it's Y here... my apologies to ya and M for not posting in such a longg time

Author: Stephenie Meyer

Pages: 624 (and currently is only available in hard cover)

Melanie Stryder refuses to fade away. The earth has been invaded by a species that take over the minds of their human hosts while leaving their bodies intact, and most of humanity has succumbed.

Wanderer, the invading "soul" who has been given Melanie's body, knew about the challenges of living inside a human: the overwhelming emotions, the too vivid memories. But there was one difficulty Wanderer didn't expect: the former tenant of her body refusing to relinquish possession of her mind.

Melanie fills Wanderer's thoughts with visions of the man Melanie loves-Jared, a human who still lives in hiding. Unable to separate herself from her body's desires, Wanderer yearns for a man she's never met. As outside forces make Wanderer and Melanie unwilling allies, they set off to search for the man they both love.

Gasp! Doesn't this book sound... well, riveting? Yes we know the author: give a warm welcome to Stephenie Meyer! Yeah yeah yeah the well known author of the Twilight saga, the one we all love to death. Anyways, some people may not think it possible for an author to keep writing just so many amazing novels, like they have run out of juice. Not Stephenie Meyer though, in my opinion this book was very good.

At parts it tended to get a little complicated, but it would all be explained later. Also, at first the idea might be a little hard to wrap your head around, but it just shows how creative the author is. You have to go in with an open mind as to what the story might be about.

I have to admit that there were characters that seriously bothered me, even though everyone else I've spoken to has LOVED and ADORED them. (cough cough Jared cough cough). Not that there was anything wrong with him, he was just quick to judge people. But shhh i can't say anything else!

Anyways since the book is complicated, it is hard to describe it without giving away some major details and surprises...

For all Twilight fans, this is a must read!
