So after reading Kirsti's post today at The Story Siren, I was inspired to start a feature. I guess I
wanted to make my blog stand out a bit more!
I tried to start this feature almost a year ago back in July but it didn't go anywhere, so here I am trying to bring it back, with some minor changes of course. (here was my attempt).
Anyways the feature (currently nameless) is going to be dedicated to highlighting some under the radar books that are actually quite awesome, or look awesome at least. I'm not sure if there will be a set date for this feature, but I'm going to try and do one every week.
Also, if someone already created this feature, please, please, please let me know! I don't want to copy them at all, or at least let me give them the proper credit.
So anyways, here goes my first "new feature" (name ideas are MUCH appreciated). I read this book last year and it turned out to be pretty good although I think it's more for older teens (15+)
One night in 1978, Tyler Gray wakes up to find a beautiful girl named Shay lying in his bathtub. For inexperienced, nerdy Tyler, this is not a common occurrence, but it’s even stranger because Shay insists that she’s from 2006. Of course Tyler doesn’t believe her, but once she proves it, they strike a deal: Tyler will try to help get Shay back to 2006 if Shay helps him become more popular.
But the more time Shay spends in 1978, the more she likes it. And while she helps Tyler with the popular crowd, she also wreaks havoc by going out with his worst enemy, making over his sister and helping his mother get a job as a cafeteria worker—at his school! Can Tyler get Shay home before his life is completely turned upside down?
S0 what do you think? Let me know! I'd love your feedback.
